Well first thing first, see this sign. From Bald Hill/Otford you may first notice this sign, what will not be that apparent is, that this the speed limit all the way along Ladywakehurst Dr. to Garie Rd. turn off exceeding this speed limit is very dangerous. I chose to ride in this direction & enjoy the road ahead, what was ahead wasn't nice. Riding from the lookout Nth. through the park. 4kms along, (The Lady's wake it hurts) is a right hand 45, I didn't take a pic. Although here you see it as a left hand corner, as you would view it if you were to approaching from the Nth to the Sth & end up @ Bald Hill Lookout. I am about to show you a spot in the bush, you may have seen it before. Here is the dirt on the matter, (random I know) But an important point never the less. This is where (lidar radar operator) stands at ease, they wait, listen & kill ants when there is silence Then they use their Lazar gun to shoot you down to ground from this position. Lets step out of the bushes, take careful aim & zap the crap out of that sucker, empty their wallet of $1750.00 & take their Licenses away for offensive behavior, with a smile of course. All part of the job, of keeping road safety, is it Nice road, I must say. I need to think positive thoughts for the next 6 mths.

Hi Dave
Sorry to hear about your bad luck. That really is messed up.
Also thanks for the big effort in putting up the photos and details so others can be aware of that spot.
A bloke I know from Sydney was coming through the National Park last Sunday ( 9th May ) in a group of 4 and one of them got done in a similar way. I'll send him a link to your photos to see if it's the same spot.
I came through there on Monday this week and I was constantly thinking of you and checking my speed. A bloke on a new Yamaha come past me on one of the few straights in there. He was doing easy 140 or 150, helmet on the tank sort of thing. Crazy stuff.
Anyway I hope the next six months goes quickly for you and there will be no excuses your 900 not looking very shiny and clean next time we see it.
I hope you have some good luck coming your way.

Sorry but Im good for the cops to do whatever it takes to get those like yourself who deem themselves above the law and decide to risk the lives of others on the way.Would you be happy with some guy cracking whatever speed you were pulling down your street. You knew you were speeding stop pregnant doging and take it like a man. Do you show pity for a guy in a car getting pinged for talking on the phone or running reds just after he near killed you? ?? It used to be a good ride through there when the speed limit was up to 100kph then they changed the speed limit down in because of twits like you.It didnt work did it.. Do you think it would be a good idea to lift the speed limit through Nasho to what you got done for maybe ?

Dear Mr Crack and Mr You.... this is a friendly site for SCDOC members and as you most probably dont know The Black Widower its maybe best not to comment.
Most bike riders are painfully aware of the speed limits and the potential danger (and cost) of breaking them. But drawing a parallel between turning the wick up on a suburban street and giving the bike a nudge in the national park are two different animals.
Speed limits are set for a reason and we are all legally bound to comply but then we get into a whole bunch of other arguments about whether or not the limit that has been set is reasonable or appropriate for the road and frankly the "experts" dont always get it right as there are many masters out there who have a vested interest in speeding fine revenue and hence the limits that are applied to certain roads. That is not to say there shouldnt be limits in the interest of public safety.
I dont think anyone on this site condones or promotes speeding on public roads and anyone thats been affected by the carnage of a speeding related incident will tell you its just not worth it...but the fact remains humans are not infallible creatures.
So unless you are a robot that has NEVER EVER done more than the speedlimit you dont have any moral high ground on which to make the comments you made.
I wonder what you'd have to say if a policeman gave chase to a motorcyclist who was going over the speedlimit on that stretch of road and in the process broke the speedlimit???...maybe you would say "the end justifies the means"...would you berate him as well...I doubt it. Lets bring back the guy with a red flag and bell to warn of oncoming traffic I say.
I think you should get off your utopian soap box and accept that people make mistakes and while you are entitled to your opinion feel free to make it in a constructive and appropriate manner.
Safe Riding

It used to be a good ride through there when the speed limit was up to 100kph then they changed the speed limit down in because of twits like you.It didnt work did it.. So if was doing 91 today he'd lose his licence for 6 months, yet no so long ago (when the limit was 100), on the very same stretch of road, he'd have been well under the limit. As someone that lives just off the Nasho and goes through it pretty much every day, I can assure that I'd rather be behind a bike doing 90+ than behind a bloody tourist doing 40! PS: I love Section 10's!

A very good point ...tourists crawling along at low speed are a pain and as dangerous as speed demons. Also agree the speed limit reduction seems totally inconsistenat with the nature of the road through nasho.
Dave if you havent checked out section 10 ask your lawyer to give you advice about whether or not you can make a successful section 10 application to the court.

Well guys this thread has had quiet a few hits, my original intention was & still is to warn my fellow Ducati comrades. "be aware" of the speed limit in the park & also to point out a trap amongst the gum trees. The reason why the speed limit in the park has been reduced is about "others, unfortunately their lives have ended in the park" accidents do happen. Seeing a patrol car drive up & down through the park will make the place far safer, than hiding in the bush & letting someone exceed their limits and kill themselves. The spot I have pointed should not be used to hind in the bush, getting in & out would be more dangerous to the public. The person who decided to set-up in this spot is putting others at risk of an accident. Can you imagine going through this bend seeing a car backing into that hole, even at 60 ks braking harsh mid corner will be dangerous.
Patrol the park, dont hide in the CracK s.
