My bike got a oil change and filters... And i am making a single seat for her.(i own a GT1000).. I got my hands on a second hand seat pan (from Japan no less) and i already had a cowl now the foam cutting, shaping, upholstery and paint. cheers Nev P.S I have just realized that I'm slowly turning my GT1000 into a Paul Smart 1000. But thats the fun of owning a bike like this FOR ME, is the tinkering and mods I can do.. ;D

Well Nev thanks for asking....
I gave the 1098 a treat and took it to a local parking lot freuqented by rice burners....and just left it there for 20 minutes...I heard a lot of noise...screaming exahusts...banging noises etc...when I cam back I found the jappers cowering in the corner of the parking lot with various injuries. I also think a couple of the Suzukis may be pushing out little half breed Suzucati's in 9 months.... that bike of mine really enjoyed its xmas presents..

Xmas is a wonderful time for everyone, I have got a few things to share with everyone & this the start of just couple of items. Just a bit of dieting for for the over indulgence, weight loss is a good thing. Stock bevel drive chain & sprockets are 530. total weight loss on each mod I'll try & post up later. Post to survive, strive to post, something, anything will do.

my bike got a xmas present,a new owner !!.......i m currently giving myself head damage on the next purchase....fluctuating Wildly between practicality and passion.New,demo or low ks,where someone else takes some of the depreciation hit.New is new with full warranty etc,you know where its been and where its going. Used ? becomes a lottery !! ...... way too hard..hj

Hi Hj I went with Demo, the price was significantly less then full retail, and considering the 500 Klm's on the clock. It was worth it for me.
Also the way demo rides are now days you know it's not been hammered. ( Except if sales people use it to go, to and from home, on weekends, down to the shops, etc)
You still get full warranty.
Previously i have always purchased second hand. I have been very lucky over the years as of the 9 bikes i have owned over the years none has ever failed me.
What brand and model are you looking at getting. cheers Nev P.S I still own 3 of the bikes from years ago plus the GT and another bike i am building.

Hi Nev,sensible route is zx10,GSX.R or CBR.if only for the servicing!!..remember,im starting uni soon and am concerned about runing costs over next three years.oil changes etc can do self, but timing belts are another matter !!...on the other hand if we move into town,ks will be a lot less so,that aspect tends to matter less.So 848[less likely] or F4 312r [MV] or 1198 are more likely.Major on MV is around 30k,hub bearings etc where Duc is 20.with belts etc.outside chance is a used 1098s,Ohlins would be nice.but havent come across many that havent been tracked[read thrashed] for my liking. if i go new or demo at least i can keep for another 6/7 years.//hj

John...this is sacriledge....get a Ducati for Christ sake...they make no sense financially, they are impractical, they cost the earth to service, parts are expensive BUUUUUUUUTTTTT...as the saying goes once you've had Duc you never go back....
