Is anyone actually riding their bike or are they just in the shed keeping out of this harsh sun. Try sun block and lets go for a group ride before Christmas. ;D

hi nev, been riding heaps last 6 weeks, mainly to destinations up the coast.painted 2 houses plus repairs/replacing such as guttering,electrical and a fair bit of carpentry(took a shit load of tools up first in a car,even removed the rear seat to carry a compressor for my nail gun)],{p.s, i now hate timber windows,they are a bastard to totally strip and repaint}.back now, spent the last two days stripping the bike and giving it a real spring{summer} clean and service,between playing santa{not quite the right build,but 3/4 yr olds didnt pick it} for an hour !!{friend owns a child care centre and there regular santa dropped out at the very last minute!!.) rode up to motorcycle show couple of times,(didnt see many from south coast}but ended up staying at ozducati s at maroubra, it saved the late night ride home early start at the show stand ride back. hj

a group ride before X-mas. mmm, well. DOCNSW are having Christmas BBQ at Patonga this Sunday 06/12/09 not sure where exactly?. It would be a longish ride for all of us, though I think it could be a decent sort of day. I dont know anything about meeting times, place or which road would be traveled. In saying that, maybe John could gather info of this event & post it up. I'd say an early start and a late arvo finish, never the less, it is a ride with a feed. Somewhere different to go, for most of us.

Oh, when is a ride not a ride? When your at home cleaning your bike! To all the cleaners, bugs are really amazing creatures.

January 1st (Friday) New Years Day Recovery
Ride to the South Coast.
Meet at the Shell service station at the corner of
Princes Highway and The Boulevarde, Gymea, at
10 am for a 10.30 am departure. Riding down
through the Royal National Park, Bald Hill, Sea
Cliff Bridge to the Scarborough Hotel for lunch.
An easy ride to start the New Year.

January 9th (Saturday), Twilight Ride to
Patonga Beach for fish and chips.
Meet at Mobil, Pacific Highway, Berowra at 4:30
pm for a 5 pm departure. Riding along the Old
Road via Mt White, Peats Ridge to Gosford, then
follow the Brisbane Waters Road to Patonga for
fish and chips. $10 for dinner and a soft drink.
Bring your swimmers. Always a popular ride, lets
see if we can get 50 Ducatis this year.

Workers Club for lunch.

Workers Club. A nice little club just past Myuna
Bay. Club will be air conditioned so if it is a hot
day it will be nice inside.

January 23rd, 24th, 25th and 26th (Saturday,
Sunday, Monday and Tuesday), Australia day
weekend long way around ride.
A four day ride over the Australia Day weekend
and public holiday. You might need to take a sickie
and have four days of riding or just join along at
any stage be it for the day or two or three. Meet
at Uncle Leo’s Roadhouse, Campbelltown Road,
Casula at 7:30 am for a 8 am departure. Riding to
Taralga, Boorowa, Sofala, Rylstone, Sandy Hollow
then Putty Road home. Accommodation and full
details to be advised at a later date.

Thursday) 10th Ducati Turismo Tasmania.
Starting in Launceston, Tasmania, the 10th Ducati
Turismo will wind its way to Devonport, St Helens
and then onto Hobart for two nights. Riding on
some of Tasmania’s most fantastic motorcycling
roads. Come along and experience the years

February 21st (Sunday) Illawarra Fly Tree Top
walk & cafe.
Meet at Uncle Leo’s Roadhouse, Campbelltown
Road, Casula at 8:30 am for a 9 am departure.
Riding the long way south to the Illawarra Tree
Top walk and Cafe 13ks south of the Robinson
pie shop on the Jambaroo Mountain Road. Adults
$22 to do the tree top walk & observation tower
however if we get a group of over 20 they will
give us a discount. Lunch at the cafe or just grab
a pie from the pie shop.

I was more thinking of a SCDOC ride/feed/coffee thing before christmas, rather then tagging alot someone else's event.

This is not intended to criticized anybody as I know that everybody is doing their best but I am disappointed at the lack of posted club rides (our club) for the past year. I know some have posted on the forum. Maybe next year we should set a side
the second or third Saturday or Sunday of every month for a ride.
Even if we repeat every year the same run, it is better than nothing. we only have a choice of a few runs.

well it wasnt something i put my hand up for, although i admit time has been at a premium sometimes!! but between x27 and myself we posted 27 rides since feb 2009,i went back and counted !!.typically it s been the four stooges as regulars.{ x27,black widower,ross and myself.}biggest difficulty i see in this is that this likely represents the faster group and our pace may have put some people off.this is where the advantage of a much larger crowd[docnsw-rides] allows for varied riders to settle in on the same ride with people around them having the same riding style.with the smaller group we have tended to. loose people [not by choice-we have always endeavored to wait for them at the next turnoff].also we never tried to encourage anyone to ride out of there comfort zone.i will also admit that the group of four also have each others phone number and have organised rides for ourselves sometimes only due to lack of response from previous posted rides.please note:donnot believe this problem is exclusive to scdoc.other clubs have had this problem also,including riders turning up,but not ride organiser !! hj...p.s urio. no offence taken.....its only a bike club.

If anyone is interested i will be at Balgownie Pub Saturday the 27th @ 1300 (thats 1pm) with or with out any other SCDOC member, having a beer to celebrate another great year.

There are a couple of us who are doing an overnighter this Sunday/Monday, meeting in Kiama at Gloria Jeans in the main street at 9am Sunday morning.
From there we will be riding to Taralga Pub via Jamberoo/Robertson/Fitzroy Falls/Bundanoon/Marulan/Bungonia/Goulburn and Taralga.
Monday will be returning via Crookwell/Goulburn/Braidwood/Batemans Bay and back to Ulladulla.

If anyone would like to join us for the day, be at Kiama by 9am or if you are able to go overnight let me know ASAP as I will have to book accommodation.
