do I have a leaky oil filter on my multistrada? is it possible to over-tighten when replacing the filter? replaced with an original part, tightened to specs - it leaked...tightened some more, still the same. Replaced with a K&N - to specs, still leaking any advice out there?

Dave i have an 05 MTS and never had the issue...I only ever do the oil filter up as tight as i can by hand ..i dont use a wrench on it and never had a leak....I agree with Nev it does sound like grit between the seal and engine case..but if you've cleaned it im baffled...The next thing would be to check if you have a crack in the casting around the attachment point but i've never heard of one cracking before.
