I will let you know Im looking at the GS but Im going to get a second hand one. You can get one 12 months old with all the bits and boxs for about $25k. most have only 3000-6000Km on the clock. Im just waiting for the new multi like you. But bang for your buck the BMW has abs traction electronic suspension and most importantly shaft drive. I hate the chain. Im sick of getting chain lube all over the bike.

i agree with you...and if you can pick up a low klm 09 GS they are a great leap forward on the 08 bike and the shaft drive is a real advantage over the chain if you are serious about doing a lot of dirt. I just dont know how serious Ducati is about competing in the all terrain space...its unchartered territory for them whereas BM have been at it for years including big races like the Dakar... either way i will be making the MTS replacement decision with my head rather than blind loyalty...The off road bikes open up a whole range of touring options as well...Cape York, The Fink Desert, Fraser island, etec etc...anyhow Im waiting in anticipation
