Hi I need a new chain as the one on the bike has rust on alot of its links even though i lub it every second time i take it out.(just another cheep ass part on the Sports classic range) The question is:... Is it a good idea to replace the front and rear sprockets if you replace the chain.and what is better a 520 chain or a 525 chain. i was looking at getting a Supersprox STEALTH Tri-Metal 525 Rear Sprocket---and a D.I.D. 525 VM2 Gold X'ring Sealed Chain does this combination sound right. cheers Nev

Ive got the same chain on the 999.Yes it is recommended to change sprockets when doing the chain. 525 was std on 999 so replaced with OEM Ducati sprockets[as they lasted just on 40 000ks] and purchased chain elsewhere[cause i wanted a gold blingy one!!].I think from memory it was arround $180 for the chain although rec retail was $229.suspect yours std would be 520, being not as potent. 525 should be more than ample. hj

Yeah i did think of asking Steve but as he works at a ducati dealership, i thought that he might not be able to suggest a after market product.
