Guys/Gals, yes I am new to all this and I am still to lodge an application for membership .... but I am planning a ride with my old man and a mate and thought I'd throw out an invite to all of you. The date for the ride is still to be fixed due to work and other commitments but I thought I'd touch base with you all and see whho would be interested. The route I have planned (I have no doubt some to most of you have done it) is as follows: 8am Narellan Maccas .... leaving noth along The Northern Road heading for Wentworth Falls & Blackheath. Keep heading north west until we hit Hartley where we turned left heading for Oberon going through Hampton & Duckmaloi before arriving at Oberon. From Oberon head back to Edith and back to Hartley and onto Bells Line of Road to Richmond and then back to Narellan Pub for a drink and chat about the ride. From there people can go their own ways leaving whenever they want. Anyone interested? Anyone done the ride and is it any good? yes I am new to most of these rides but can't wait to give them a go. Let me know

Hey Soxy, new member myself and living in the southern suburbs of Sydney would be more than happy to join in on your trip.
Was informed of a great ride via Hartley, Taralga to Goulburn. Was planning to do the first part of "IVAN the terrible" to Goulburn and then Taralga, Oberon and home via Katoomba - almost the reverse of what Honest john suggested.
Hope to be at the mall on Sat, can chat then
BERKO :-)

Hj & Berko, thanks heaps for your replies and suggestions. To say I am new to all this is an under statement as I don't even know any part of 'Ivan the Terrible'. Good thing is with time, and riding with you guys, I will learn more and more places to ride Berko ... you say you live in the Southern Suburbs of Sydney .... where exactly?? I live in Ruse (Campbelltown). I will try to get down to the Gong mall and see the Ducati display but I can't promise anything. I've had a few appointment changes to Saturday plus I have other things on. if I don't make it I will do my best to make the next monthly meeting (anyone know where n when that will be?). Thanks, Soxy

Hi Soxy, I'm at Kirrawee about 3min from "the royal" (a great ride in itself - if you get it with no traffic) If you want I can send you a few maps off "whereis.com" that I made for the ride I have planned.
I'll PM you BERKO

Soxy - I put a rough run of your ride and the one I've discussed onto motowhere.com, the links are in the Berko rides posting.

Azaberko, yeah I have checked the route out and I like it! It shows us going into Bathurst and then back home. if this is the case I'd love to put the Duke around Mt Panorama ... I guess that is an option .... Soxy

yeah it goes close to Bathurst but falls short by about 100k or so - I ran up through Tarana because I wasn't sure how you wanted to head back to the start of bells line of road, so to avoid doing the same road twice (Duckmaloi road) I ran due north to the GW hwy and across to Lithgow. Just an idea ... a lap of the mount is a good run if youve never been there more than happy to go with ya ... god knows how they race it ... :-) I stopped the ride at South Penrith .. so we can have coffee and donuts !

What the hell would be at Penrith that you would stop for ? sorry for my ignorance. A further hint ,when organising rides is to consider the lowest common denominator in fuel range, and where possible you can purchase premium unleaded. No point in doing 250k stints, if your bikes will only do 180/220ks between tanks. All Duc Superbikes will fall into this category !! as opposed to your B double fuel tankers like ST s that will likely double this.An example is that your Superbikes will truly struggle [likely fumes only]to from Bathurst to say Goulburn, without a minor splash and dash into Oberon. hj

Thanks HJ about the fuel tip - whereis.com now lists fuel as one of its search options (not available on motowhere.com - bummer!) The reason for South Penrith finish ... Krispy Kreme ... and its close enough to the hwy + fuel stops for those going nth / south / east etc to split off at the end of the ride ... still in the planning stage just wanted to get something down for soxy to see if he liked the basic idea ... agree with the fuel range issue, have gotten as much as 290K's out of the GT, and as little as 180k, so I try to arrange a stop every 200k's ... Where is the x27 ride to, I'd be keen.
