Hi I have a (Ducati part) Anti-theft system fitted to my 07 GT and am having trouble turning it off (so i can start the bike). As i understand that the Anti-theft system (alarm unit) immobilizes the engine control unit. I have replaced the batteries in the flicker units (hand button) and the problem is intermittent (for days at a time). I wont to remove it completely , is it as simple as disassembling it or because it's connected to the ECU i need to get it done at a ducati dealer. cheers Nev

umm, check your battery in your unit, sometimes you get a dodgy one. is there an antennae? maybe its not recieving. on ours the immobiler ring has been known to slip down, not allowing key to recieve signal. check electrical connections [loose/corroded/poor contact. dont you just love electrical dramas. dp ecu s have also been known to fail /fault intermittently.i d drop in and talk to steve for a couple of suggestions. and avoid that service manager.typically most problems are usually across a model line ,so yours would unlikely be the first. eg VR in 1098s etc.

hi john i went to F/M's and asked them to remove it completely.which they did. They aggreaded to remove it for free and they get to keep it. It had played up on me for the last time. Cheers Nev
