will call staintune tomorrow, their web site says their pipes do not change the bike set up and changes to the engine management sysytem are not required?? but on the pricelist I see one is included, so I am somewhat puzzled. My technical knowledge of this subject borders on zero, hence my quandry...
cheers

basic principle is modern efi bikes are made to run a bit lean to get through euro /emissions etc. new pipes will tend to be less restrictive, and aid breathing[which is good]. as a consequence will run even leaner still.[not a good thing]. my understanding is that this is largely prevailent at higher rpm range[say above 5000rpm].hence the need for performance ecu etc. hj..p.s ZARD, is another option. talk to ozducati,he currently has one on his.

Ian...I cant speak for Zard or Staintune but the termi's i have on my MTS are great....think they changed the ECU as the stock system exhaust has two very restrictive Cat converters which the Termi system elinates ....The ECU change helps sort out the effect on the bikes torque and lean fuel issues...breathes much better at higher revs/speeds...
