I am almost due for a new tyre, i only do road rides. (no track days, yet) and have seen alot of good revues about the Perelli Diablo Rosso Tyres (Or it could be just sales hype) Has any one tryed them yet. I own a GT1000 cheers Nev

I used bridgestone battlemax on the BMW i was getting 20000Km on the back tyre turing not too bad unless you want to really push it than you will need a bit more sticker tyres.
Because we are limited to say 110KPH most tyre will be Ok you have to decide which one you want most economy or performance. But stick to a well known brand

I would use a good sport tyre. The tourer tyres last longer but they are not as good in terms of adhesion. I found the Pilot Roads to be very hard, and generally a poor quality tyre for anything other than straight highway riding!
My personal view is that it is better to pay for very good tyres - isn't good adhesion (and hence also braking) worth the maybe $150 - $200 more you may have to pay? It's what just might keep you alive.

I have the Metzler Z6 rear and M3 front - v good combination, also good in the wet, and seems to get to temperature quickly - got 9500 ks r & 11,000 ks f last lot. (Including 2 track days).
