Well I put the new YSS rear shocks on Friday, and what a difference, I can not believe to how well the bike handles, It feels like a different bike all together, I'm looking for bends twits and corners because they are now fun. Went for a test ride to Bald hill Friday arvo, I did the Ivan run on Saturday got home then went back up to Bald hill that evening again.I just wont to ride. The original rear shocks where that hard (at their softest setting) that any undulation or bump on the road (especially around bends) the rear would kick out and or skip up and bounce in the air. It was heart in mouth riding. I understand that the GT is the cheaper of the Classic range of bikes and that it was designed with two up riding in mind but to put cheep ass shocks on a bike with no adjustment for single riding is just not right, or is it just a clever marketing ploy to buy the bike in parts, as they now sell upgraded front and rear shocks just for the GT. and why would you sell a comfort seat if the original one was known to be uncomfortable. even the 1098 has rear view mirror extensions why don't they just put them on the next model if it that bad. Cheers Nev P.S I really should not get write forum threads at 3 in the morning. P.S.S Is their any thing on your bike that you think should have come standard from new?

;D,would have liked the option of two swedish blondes ;D,there were no options, actually there were no bikes !!,orderred in early july and got early december. they are probably more cost sensitive on your bike.with its nearest competiture possibly the triumph range.sort of retro/ish.if everything ended up on say sub 20k bike, would be no reason for post 30k/40k and ever onwards.good to hear you are happy with the new shocks.imagine if it made no difference !

yep sorry about that.....
but therin lies exactly what Im saying...if you look carefully you will note a slight change in each post until i got to the one I wanted to send in the first place... a bit like Ducati...release one that is OK and then make improvements in rapid succession just to piss people off.... an example in action...hahahahah ;D

;D the writing for all that was on the wall due to WSBK.history always put their specials as R models. the only way they could possibly fit into the new regs with the required volume was to filter the changes down into the lower spec models !! 1098 was likely having a bet each way if they didnt get the 1200 limit .The fact that BMW and KTM went closer to the 1200 limit assisted both wsbk and duc in the outcome. hj

possibly true Johnno...but Im a bit cynical about what happens behind the scenes as I reckon Ducati had more than enough push as a result of heir "ownership" of the superbike class over the last 11 years to get the new changes through....after all ...who are KTM and BMw anyhow???...just two companies who describe themselves using three letter acronyms...absolutely no road racing pedigree to speak of...they may as well make sewing machines or kitchen utensils...

BMW have a lot of history racing their bikes, many years ago were reasonably successful...
