Alex, can we have another tech night I think the last one was a great success, and I do believe that Fraser was happy with the turn out.

I agree....those that attended found it very useful and another one would be great. Unfortunately we will have to find a new tech Guru to do the presentation as it seems Paul Lewis has left Frasers....Let me have a chat to Mitch and Dean and see if we can arrange for an alternate.
Cheers

Hi All, A suggestion for the club to help promote membership down this way might be to have a few bikes at the Milton Charity Bike Show which is on Saturday the 1st of November (see link) www.miltoncharitybikeshow.info/If anyone wanted to stay overnight I could find lockup space for the bikes. It is a great day which runs well into the night. This would also be an opportunity to get together and talk about the club on a social level. We could have a ride on the Sunday if anyone was interested. Scott

certainly sounds like an event worth attending....if you send the deatils to Nev he can post them to the website.
BTW...At the last members meeting we also agreed that we would hold the next meeting down south on a weekened as we know its difficult for you guys to get to the gong midweek....we are targetting Sunday 12 October at lunch time...so suggestions for a meeting/lunch spot that is central for you gyuys would be welcome...Ulladulla, Batemans bay...wherever is fine...
Cheers

Hi Alex, The only details at the moment are on the web site link in my previous post. Just a suggestion, if we have the club meeting on the Sunday after the Bike Show we would possible have more turn up. We could have it at the Milton Hotel. I have spoken to a bike rider/service station owner in Milton and he has no problems with locking the bikes in his workshop which has alarms and is checked by a security company during the night.

Scott, do you mean for us to participate at the bike display or to set up a display as a Ducati club as we did for Italian week in the W'gong Mall?

Urio, I was thinking keep it simple, just enter some bikes and have club information and membership forms available, possibly sign up new members, wear club shirts etc.

not clear on where your membership base is but i will through an idea or two for discussion. combine meetings with ride...................... dont know whether this works or not but appears that sc ulysses club do this, not old enough to know anyone in their club to find out ......................allocate some committee positions for the far south coast members eg. have two ride co s and maybe alternate vp/pres etc ....................they may feel more involved with representation. have the ride co-ordinator delegate a monthly ride/where possible to different members/phone them if necessary..could be a mystery that only that person organising would know the whole route but may advise whether half day or full day etc....may alleviate problem of rc having to participate on every ride. email to those members that you have their addresses.....a day or two before club meetings /rides rather than two hours out . on a similar note, email out what was discussed at meetings or the success of the ride...may encourage more to participate/maybe ? ....the thought being that with maybe 30 currently non participating members, what are they getting for their money, are they just apprehensive about turning up because they dont know anyone .do they think we may ride to slow for them or too quick,or maybe to regimented.eg HRC clubs usually have a ride marshal front and rear wearing fluro[definately not for me/us] are they aware they can travel at their own pace ? whats the model mix,are we more SB/SS/ST/MS etc...may give insight to our rider base. increase our profile/membership with displays at community venues etc...... thats a start for some discussion john

I hope I am not jumping the gun here but I have talked to a committee member from the Milton Charity Bike Show (web site still down, being updated) and they are happy for us to promote our club at the show but it has to be put their committee. I have also tentatively arranged an area at the Comercial Hotel Milton for Saturday 1st of November (same day as Bike Show) at 1pm for a club meeting. The show is at the Star Hotel but it would be too busy to accommodate us. The owner of the Comercial Hotel is keen to have us there and said it could be a regular thing if we liked. Let me know what you think and I will firm things up. There is still the offer to lock any bikes in a local service station workshop with alarm if anyone would like to stay overnight on Saturday and go for a ride the next day, maybe the Ivan run in reverse.

Is there any way that all members that have an Email address can be Emailed in bulk using this forum? When the club first started we were using Google Groups where you had the option of emailing all users that were registered. I did this a few times when I had arranged a ride from Ulladulla and we had a few extra riders join us. If all members were encouraged to register their Email (which is kept private) it would then be easy to notify everyone if a ride was organised. Not everyone checks the Club web site or the forum everyday but most will check their Emails.
