Hi All My name is Mark. I recently bought a new Monster 696 from Fasers FM. I have never owned a road bike before. The bikes I've had before have always been 4 stroke dirt bikes so I'm having a ton of fun learning the difference between dirt and road riding. I've had the bike for about two months now and am just hitting the 6000 km mark, mostly solo. New tyres soon. The other thing I'm into is photography and have made part of my living shooting images for sports magazines over the past 15 years or so. This link should take you to my website which has some Covers displayed www.marknewsham.com.au/sports/covers.htm I'm keen to join up with some Ducati riders and shoot some bikes in action. So let me know if anyone is interested on an early morning Sunday ride at any time. I will explain more about this on the general board. Regards All Mark Newsham 0408 425 466

Hi to all members .
I have been riding motorcycles my hole life . I did the moto x enduro thing. The boy racer jap bike weekend worrier . Then a few years on a purpose built track bike. Which was my favourite . The expense was draining me as you can imagine Having been a fan of Ducati my hole life they where just plain out of reach for a young guy on adverage earnings. How things change Im now the owner of a 1098s and my god I love it.
Cheers Adam

Hey, welcome Adam, you have come to right place mate. As long as you got a Ducati, your in. 1098s kool bit of stuff there pal. X man has got the same with only a couple of mods, he's bloody mad, in a gourmet chef sort of way, but you & him may get on OK. Keep your eye out for a day tripping ride man, we dont do some pot, yet! but I'm still wait for a roach, Dave.

I'm confused. I thought I'd intro'd myself before, but I can't see anything. No matter. ;D
My name's Tony, and I have an 848 I bought new this year from Dean at Fraser's. I live in the Blue Mountains, so probably won't be a big participant in the flesh. I also have an old wide case 250 Mk3 (non-desmo, twin filler), that I really should restore.
In fact, I'll be asking a few restoration questions real soon now.

I should have added that I have had a few Dukes - 500GTL - lovely handling and brakes, next to no go, 860GTS (SS motor, fairing and front end) - enjoyed many happy kms on this bike, but it did need a few too many repairs. Broke down on the way to Perth (valves) and the way home (broken gear cog), and 750 Supersport - beautiful when it ran, but it often didn't, thanks to a previous owner's shoddy maintenance. I'd have also been happier if he hadn't lied about crash damage and I hadn't had to fix the frame... All my road bikes have been Euro twins, and mainly Italian twins. Tony F

Hi All,
I read the post from, I'm sorry can't remember right now, about the radar hide out near Helensberg. Wanted to add a thank the poster for the heads up so I thought I may as well register. I don't live on the coast but since I live south of the city I often come down that way.
Now I think of it, I may as well put this question out there. I suppose it was about three weekends ago now (the last sunny one), I was headded back to Sydney through the park, there was a bike behind me for a bit and it seemed to not be there all of a sudden. Could have just pulled over but there had been no turn off. Plays on your mind when this happens, you look in your mirror and they're gone hoping it's the result of something voluntary.
There wasn't an accident anyone knows of was there? This was at he southern end of the park and what spooked me more was I saw the ambulance headding into the park but that was right near the Sydney end.
Hate that lingering feeling of wondering if you should go back.
Anyway not the best note to start on so hello ya' all. Oh yes, do have a Duc .. 748

Welcome green machine, hello back to you Rob. The Matrix is very clean & spotless and a goer, we had a nice little bit of a blast up Mt. Ousley & down Mt. Keira then out to AP for a stretch up Macquaire. Hope to catch up on a ride soon. Dave.
